City of Canada Bay Museum

We’ve hit the magic milestone and can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

At this stage, the City of Canada Bay Museum won’t be opening to the public immediately but we will use the time to clean the premises, which are looking a little sad following the nearly four months closure.

Our diligent band of members and volunteers are also planning several new displays so that, when we do open, a visit will be a whole new experience.

We are also looking forward to resuming our regular talks on Saturday afternoons with several interesting speakers already booked.

Keep watching our website or following us on Facebook to see when we will announce our Grand Opening.

Meanwhile, if you are interested in local history why not join us.  We are always looking for new members and volunteers.  You can drop in to our museum, at 1 Bent Street, Concord on any Wednesday or Saturday to join us for a cuppa and a chat. This museum is separate from the City of Canada Bay Council and is run entirely by members and volunteers of the City of Canada Bay Heritage Society.

  • Vale Harry Kimble

Harry was a valued member of our Society.  Military history was one of his passions, and his immense knowledge was extremely helpful any time we were arranging new displays around our collection of militaria.  He was also an intrepid traveller, visiting many places around the world where the average traveller would never think to visit. …

Two Newspapers – written by soldiers, for soldiers. Among the treasures recently rediscovered in the museum’s archives are two special edition newspapers from April 1935.
