A new exhibition of mens and womens hats showing styles from 1905 through to the 1990’s.

In the 1800’s, continuing into the 1900’s, women’s hats were mostly made of straw. Later, a material called buckram was used as the base of the hat, to give it shape, then covered with fabrics such as silk, linen and fur felt.
