It is with great sadness we bring you the news that we have lost one of our oldest and most valued members.  Betty passed away peacefully on Sunday, 20th March aged 95.

Our museum will greatly miss her.  We could always rely on “Our Betty” no matter what had to be done.   She was always cleaning and polishing, she kept us nourished with hot beverages, she cooked for our monthly talks.  She was always there when needed.

Her Devonshire teas for Open Days were famous.  Many visitors said they came back to do the tours again just to enjoy the refreshments.

She will be sadly missed and impossible to replace.

Rest in peace, Betty, safe in the arms of our Lord.  You’ve earned your reward.

Betty’s funeral will be held on Friday, 8th April at 10:30 am at St.Luke’s Anglican Church, Burton Street, Concord. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to the City of Canada Bay Museum. Envelopes will be available at the service.
