David Street

No known origin, but an interesting theory, as follows: (Detail supplied by the late Fred Bolt, in his list of Concord street name-changes).

David Street was:

• Davis Street 1884, & 1885 ‘off Gipps St. 1884 to 1901’.
• Davis Street, Burton Street north 1884.
• Davis Street off Burton Street 1885.
• Davis Street from 1886 listed as “David Street”.

Therefore it appears that the rightful name was Davis Street, so far not accountable.
