Burton Street
(In 1870 it was called “Corner Street”.) Named after a “Mr. Burton, who lived on the corner of the street”, according to an anonymous note in the archives of the Concord Historical Society.
I prefer to consider that it might refer to Sir William Westbrook Burton (Puisine Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales from 1832 to 1844) who, along with others, brought about the opening of the Burwood Parochial School at Longbottom.
Burton Street is in what was the Village of Longbottom.
