Allen Street

I have not been able to associate this name with any individual, but am very much inclined to consider that it was intended to honour Alexander Allan, builder of the Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital.

The nearby George Street was originally Allan Road, named for that gentleman and changed to George Street after WW1 because of the patriotic fervour following the end of hostilities.
