Congratulations to a wonderful volunteer

At the recent Mayoral Christmas Party our Mayor, Helen McCaffrey announced the name of City of Canada Bay’s Citizen of the Year.  A lady who is totally involved in her local community:  our Heritage Society and Museum, Meals-on-Wheels, Senior Citizens’ Management Committee, VASCA, the Catholic Church, a former Councilor on both the Concord and Drummoyne Councils and still actively liaising with Council on behalf of residents, while finding time to serve on several Concord Hospital committees.

If I’ve missed anyone out I apologise – she is not one to shine a light on all she does.

It’s our own enthusiastic and much valued member . . . Jeanette O’Hara.

Congratulations, Jeanette – a well-deserved and long overdue recognition of all you have done for our community.

  1. Congratulations!!

  2. I totally support recognition of this wonderful woman who has done so much for our area. She is such a thoughtful person and I cannot think of anybody I know who does a much as Jeanette. And, to boot, she is not 18 years of age.

Much love and good wishes for the future and for 2017..

  5. A wonderful tribute to a sincere and hard-working community member. I was honored to have worked with Jeanette on Concord Council and then support her election to Canada Bay City Council where she served as Councillor, Deputy Mayor and acting Mayor for several years.
