Our guest speaker for April is Tom Sweeney from the Willoughby Theatre Company and his subject will be “Let’s Put on a Show”.

His talk is a “behind the scenes” look at how a musical actually goes from an idea through to Opening Night.

He will take you through the various stages – from choosing the musical and the cast, the rehearsals and on to the Grand Opening.  This all takes an exceptional amount of time, people skills and enthusiasm.

Tom has directed such shows as Les Miserable, The Boy From Oz, Titanic, Zorba, Meet Me in St Louis, The Scarlet Pimpernel, 42nd Street and Strictly Ballroom.

He has also appeared in many productions, done costuming, props, backstage and made the tea.

Mark your diary now: Saturday, 1st April at 2:00 pm.

Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone you think might be interested.
