On Monday, 18th June we were delighted to welcome the Drummoyne Scouts, leaders and parents to our museum to hear a talk by John Johnson, our Local Studies Librarian, and to enjoy the museum’s current display on “Family Fun in the pre-Digital Age”.

John’s talk, accompanied by a slide show, introduced them all to part of the history of our area and elicited plenty of questions from the audience, anxious to learn more.

But the highlight of the evening had to be our display:  old fashioned board games, wind-up gramophone, kitchenalia and other things which were all available for hands-on learning.   The young lads had to be dragged away, reluctantly, at the end of the night with many expressing the desire to come back and play more games.

A delightful and educational evening for everyone.
